Senior Software Engineer, Embedded Systems

Softlandia is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer, Embedded Systems for our customer in the imaging domain. In this role, you'll design and develop low-level software for advanced camera systems, ensuring high performance and efficient resource management on embedded platforms.

Due to the specialized hardware setup, this role requires you to work at our customer's facility in Tampere, and both written and spoken proficiency in English is required.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop & Optimize: Write and refine embedded software in C and C++ to fully leverage camera hardware capabilities.

  • Imaging Pipeline: Work on the complete imaging process from sensor data acquisition to high-quality RGB/YUV image processing using essential imaging algorithms.

  • System Analysis: Use Python for data and trace analysis to ensure optimal performance on resource-constrained devices.

  • Collaborate: Partner with cross-functional teams to enhance imaging performance and drive innovative product development.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: MSc, BSc, or equivalent in a relevant field.

  • Programming: Strong proficiency in C and C++ for embedded systems development.

  • Imaging Expertise: Hands-on experience with camera software—from sensor data acquisition to image processing.

  • System Constraints: Demonstrated ability to develop software for systems with limited memory and compute power.

  • Analysis Tools: Proficiency in Python for data and trace analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with pipeline-based frameworks (e.g., GStreamer).

  • Familiarity with low-level communication protocols (SPI, I2C, GPIO), RTOS, Docker, or cloud platforms.

  • Knowledge of MIPI and modern camera buses.

  • Experience with Python and AI is a definite plus.
